Moreover, after law school, personal injury lawyer Dan Linebaugh worked for one of the most prestigious law firms in Houston, defending insurance companies; but that was before he switched sides of the docket and started helping injured people. The case that turned him around was a workers' compensation case involving a woman with severe injuries. In a trial at College Station, Dan represented the workers' compensation insurance company and was able to eliminate the insurance company's responsibility. As a result, the woman received nothing. While the case was a victory for the insurance company, it was a hollow victory for Dan; he asked himself, "Is this really what you want to do? Do you want to help the insurance industry or do you want to help the people?"

Later, when the opportunity presented itself, Linebaugh moved to Baytown, Texas, and began utilizing his legal talent to serve the people instead of the insurance industry. He and his former partner limited their practice to helping those who suffered from personal injury and wrongful death cases. Dan now practices with attorneys Karen Semanek and Joe Mitchell. In February 2007, Dan Linebaugh was named "One of Houston's Top Lawyers for the People" by H Texas Magazine.
